Hazelnut Catering is owned and operated by myself, Chef Nick Jordanoff and my wife, Stacy.  With well over 20 years each in the restaurant/service industry, we decided to establish Hazelnut Catering and offer a full service catering company that will customize and develop an event menu, according to your desires and needs.

Previously, I owned an Eastern European fine dining restaurant in the South Side of Pittsburgh, called Old Europe. A few years ago, we were fortunate enough to be featured on the Food Network’s “The Best Of” program, highlighting the best in Pittsburgh dining.  Also during our seven year span, I appeared on some local television cooking shows, guest instructed at our community colleges, and annually received awards in “Pittsburgh Magazine’s” reader’s poll, in the European category.  We even achieved the honor of Silver Medal in the Best Overall Restaurant Category.  All in all, it was a great experience and fulfilled my dream of owning a fine dining restaurant.

After 7 years of long hours and the daily stress of operating a restaurant, it was time for a change.  So 3 years ago, we decided to establish Hazelnut Catering to focus more on the event catering industry and give the restaurant business a break.  This shift in career goals just happened to coincide with the birth of our daughter, Amanda, thus allowing us to focus on our family time with her as well.

With Hazelnut Catering, I have expanded the types of cuisine that I prepare, but my menu is still heavily influenced in the European style.  But as our mission states, we will gladly work with you and actually “cater” to your needs.  It would be my pleasure to serve you.
